Hello and Welcome to SoSound Entertainment!

My name is Tyler and I've been bringing people together through music for nearly a decade.

I have a strong listening ear for all kinds of music from different eras, and a passion for people.. so I had a vision of combining the two to make this a reality for your event.

I believe what will make your event memorable by the music is not just the skill of mixing and beat matching, it's the special attention I take pride in working with you, preparation, reading the room to bring people together, or better yet just setting the tone right!

Why go with SoSound?

At this point I would consider my brain a big encyclopedia for music after DJing for nearly a decade and overseas. This involves all genres and my love for music, hosting my own radio show on Kiss FM for a year, DJing events for birthdays, corporate events, playing in public spaces and weddings. I pay close attention, and ensure your guests will have a great time!

Song requests?

Don't fret about them from your friends and guests if you think it may not suit the mood! I can play requests on the fly, but I also preview each track (If I'm unsure of the song) before it reaches the crowd.

Your event's atmosphere is in good hands. Inquire below through which package suits you best:

My Experience

Half of my DJ career started while living in Australia, leading up to being involved with Kiss FM radio, curating mixes of all kinds of dance music and telling stories about artists from around the globe. Living across the world submerged me in different cultures, music and the best part, the people. This has given me a vast selection of music stemming from many different cultures. I play to all age groups in bars, club settings, curated events and more. My experience allows me to read the room and connect people through music of all backround’s and ages.

My love, passion, dedication and attention to detail shines through every step of the way, and when you work with me, I will make sure the vibe and sound are right for you and your party. Please get in contact so we can make your occasion unique and one to remember.

Hi Sosound,

Most business owners pour money into marketing that doesn’t work. They run ads, post on social media, and hope for the best—only to be disappointed by the results.

The problem? They’re relying on vague branding tactics instead of proven strategies.

Dan Kennedy calls this the “ADHD approach to marketing”—jumping from one shiny tactic to another without a clear, measurable plan.

But there’s a better way: Direct-Response Marketing.

This approach focuses on generating real, measurable results, like leads, sales, and conversions. Here’s how you can start applying it today:

Step 1: Speak Directly to Your Audience

One of Dan’s key teachings is this: “If you’re speaking to everyone, you’re speaking to no one.” Direct-response marketing works because it’s personal.

For example:

A company selling weight loss supplements doesn’t just target “everyone who wants to lose weight.” Instead, they target busy moms who want to shed pounds quickly after having kids.

A financial advisor doesn’t market to “everyone interested in saving money.” They craft campaigns for high-income professionals nearing retirement.

Your Action Step: Write down your audience’s specific demographics, challenges, and goals.

Step 2: Use an Irresistible Call-to-Action

Every piece of marketing must tell the audience what to do next. Whether it’s “Download this guide,” “Sign up for a webinar,” or “Call now,” your call-to-action (CTA) should be clear and compelling.

Example 1:

A dental clinic offered a free teeth-whitening session for new patients. The clear CTA—“Call to schedule your free session today!”—resulted in a 200% increase in appointments.

Example 2:

A SaaS company ran ads with the CTA: “Get a 30-day free trial today.” The campaign boosted signups by 35%.

Step 3: Track and Test Everything

One of Dan’s most famous quotes is: “You can’t improve what you don’t measure.” Direct-response marketing relies on tracking every aspect of your campaign.

What’s your click-through rate?

How many leads did you generate?

What’s your cost per acquisition?

Example:

A real estate agent ran Facebook ads targeting first-time homebuyers. By testing different headlines and images, they reduced their cost per lead by 50%.

Tomorrow, we’ll dive into the art of crafting offers your customers can’t refuse.

To your success,

Kevin

Perfect for our wedding!

November 10, 2024

Tyler was absolutely wonderful to work with for our September wedding! He made the planning of it extremely easy which took away so much stress! And on our wedding day he did such a great job with his set up! He even was able to provide some additional lighting to add to the vibe which was perfect! The very best thing about Tyler was how he was able to read the room and adjust the music to what fit right in the moment. One of the best parts of my wedding night was because of a moment during dinner where he played one of my favorite songs and it created a moment in which I was able to pause and take in everything and feel just pure happiness. Thank you so much Tyler for making our wedding so incredible!

Tyler demonstrates professionalism and is always looking for ways to tailor the experiences he provides to the customer. He is always available to communicate and makes every effort to ensure he has all the information he needs to help create a memorable event. Besides his superb customer service, he brings a passion for his craft, which has been fostered through years of experience performing and being connected with music. Without him, our wedding would not have been the same and I would recommend him to anyone who needs MC or DJ services!

Tyler was AMAZING!!!

June 4, 2024

What can I say, everything for the wedding went exactly how it should have which is all I could’ve wanted! Tyler mastered the itinerary, he let me know at times when speeches were coming, and what was happening, so I was aware of the timeline as it passed, but not burdened with how it was going or having to do anything! What a breath of fresh air my wedding was because we had Tyler. He cared, and the day reflected that. Awesome communication, stellar execution- if I ever have another wedding, itll be SoSound again!

FAQ

SoSound is self owned by Tyler Mitchell since 2022. After moving back to Rochester from overseas, he instantly had support from the local scene and friends who throw events, keeping his momentum alive playing at bars and clubs, and locally thrown outdoor events, eventually leading to more private events for birthdays and more; creating a motive to start the business.

SoSound holds a $1000000 insurance liability policy incase of any accident at your event. Your safety is my priority.

Yes, my business is covered by NEXT - Liability Insurance incase of any injury that may occur on premises due to any equipment provided by SoSound. This is a $1 Million dollar General Liability Policy covering Medical Payments, Property Damage, Advertising Harm, and Injury on Premises.

That is the ultimate job of the DJ, so yes I work with you closely to plan ahead for all types of music that can suit your occassion! Then it is my duty to read the room and set the tone at your event to ensure a great time for all.

I believe in transparency and fairness when it comes to the pricing stated for your specific event. If you’re curious about the details behind the pricing, I'm more than happy to explain!

I like to thoroughly plan in detail for the ceremony with you and the reception is a brain stormed list of songs you enjoy for a dance floor. From there, I like to focus on favorites, things you don't like, and songs that will be in favor of your timeline. I prefer Spotify, but Apple Music works also. Youtube music is also a good way of communicating about music and playlists.

I like to at least get a backup of clean tracks for any track you would like to hear played that involves swear words, incase people are around that may not appreciate it.

I cannot gaurantee a clean track for every explicit track, but I do my best to have them ready and read the energy if it is best to play the clean version instead.
